Keewatin Library Closure

Effective immediately, the Keewatin Library and Keewatin Senior Centre are closed.
The Keewatin Library building located on Ottawa Street has been deemed unsafe for occupancy due to a structural issue with the roof.
This building holds programming for library services as well as our Keewatin Senior Centre which will be impacted by this closure.

Transfer Station Rules and Regulations

We would like to remind our customers about the Transfer Station rules and regulations to ensure the safety of all who enter the site.
The Transfer Station, located at 401 Mellick Avenue, is an industrial area with heavy equipment in operation at all times. All City of Kenora equipment and trucks have the right of way at the Transfer Station. Customers are required to safely yield and stop for these vehicles at all times.

Tenth Street Storm Works and Road Improvement

Please be advised that on Monday, June 17, Moncrief Construction Limited (MCL) will begin storm work and road improvements on Tenth Street in Keewatin from Ottawa Street to Highway 17. The project is expected to be completed by mid-August 2024.
Sections of Tenth Street will be closed at different times throughout the project, and detour routes will be in place. Local traffic will be permitted. Pedestrians will be diverted around the work area when it is necessary to close the sidewalks. Signs will...
Committee of the Whole June Meeting Date Change

Please be advised that City of Kenora Council will hold its June Committee of the Whole meeting on Thursday, June 13, at 1:00 p.m. rather than on the second Tuesday of the month.
The meeting date change is to accommodate professional staff training.
The regular Council meeting will remain on the third Tuesday of the month, June 18, at 5:00 p.m. as scheduled.
The meeting agenda and documents can be found on our Agenda and Minutes page no later than June 11.
Lakeview Drive Capital Improvement Project

The City is excited to announce the Lakeview Drive paving project. Work to install new asphalt surfacing between the Roundabout and the Hospital Bridge (Winnipeg River East Branch Bridge) will start Monday, May 13. The project includes periods of overnight work to complete the project quickly.
Here’s what you can expect:
- During the day, two-way traffic will slowly and safely continue through the construction zone.
