Notice of Special Meeting for Official Plan Review

Take notice that the City of Kenora invites all interested persons to attend a Special Meeting of Council for the purpose of discussing the revisions that may be required as part of a proposed update to the City’s Official Plan, as documented in the Policy Directions and Recommendations Report, pursuant to the requirements of 26(3) of the Planning Act, RSO 1990, as amended.

Low Water Pressure for Ninth Street North Project Area

Please be advised that due to the ongoing watermain reconstruction work on Ninth Street North, residents in the North End neighborhood on Third Street North, Fourth Street North, and Fifth Street North may experience low water pressure on Tuesday, August 5. 

Residents are asked to minimize water usage during the day where possible.

We thank the public for their continued patience and cooperation during this watermain reconstruction project.

Bernier Drive Temporary Closure

Please be advised that Bernier Drive from the Roundabout to the Kenora Public Library will be closed on Tuesday, August 5, from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m.

Jarnel Contracting Ltd will be placing a large piece of granite near the Jarnel Contracting Pavilion.

The North Harbourfront parking lot will remain open to local traffic.

Essex Road and Beauty Bay Road Repairs

Please be advised that scheduled road repairs for Essex Road and Beauty Bay Road will begin on Wednesday, July 30, and are expected to last up to two weeks. 

The repair work will involve scarifying the surface-treated section and applying gravel on top. During the scarification process, rough and dusty conditions may occur until the gravel is added. Motorists are urged to slow down in this area while work is being performed.

What's Open, Closed This Civic Holiday

On the Civic Holiday, Monday, August 4, the following City facilities are open:

• Lake of the Woods Discovery Centre from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• The Muse is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

All other City buildings and facilities are closed, including the Transfer Station and Recycle Depot, Kenora Public Library, City Hall, Operations Building, Moncrief Construction Sports Centre, and Bowman Electric Keewatin Memorial Arena. 

The Wave does not operate on the holiday.
