Keewatin Channel Bridge Assessment

Please be advised that Stantec will be conducting an assessment of the Keewatin Channel Bridge this week. The assessment is being done ahead of the steel coating project taking place later this year. The assessment work will occur beneath and on the sides of the bridge, where the Engineers will use rope access to check the bridge components.
There will be no impact on traffic or sidewalks during this time.
Reduced Sunday Hours at the Transfer Station

Please be advised that starting from Sunday, November 5, the Transfer Station, which includes the recycle depot, will operate on reduced hours on Sundays during the winter season. The Sunday hours will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We will resume our extended Sunday hours in the spring of 2024.
Gould Road Closure for Culvert Replacements

Please be advised that Moncrief Construction Limited (MCL) will be completing culvert replacements on Gould Road commencing Thursday, October 5, and continuing until the end of October 2023.
During the construction, a section of Gould Road will be closed approximately 300m north of the intersection with Transmitter Road.
Local traffic will be able to access Gould Road from both Railway Street and the Transmitter Road.

Recycling Depots Collector Bin Changes

In alignment with the Province of Ontario’s Blue Box Regulation under the Resource Recovery and Circular Economy Act, 2016, recyclable materials brought to the Transfer Station Recycling Depot or dropped at the Rural Recycle Depots no longer need to be sorted by material type. All of the recycling bins at the Depot can accept mixed recyclables, excluding glass. Glass continues to be collected in a dedicated bin.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day

In recognition of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, all City facilities, with the exception of The Muse, will be closed on Saturday, September 30. The Moncrief Construction Sports Centre will open at 6:00 p.m. for the SIJHL hockey game.
On Monday, October 2, City Hall and Operations Centre will be closed to recognize the civic holiday.
