Load Restrictions In Effect March 23, 2025

Please be advised that effective Sunday, March 23, at 11:59 p.m., reduced load restrictions will be in effect as per the City of Kenora By-law 134-2021 and the Highway Traffic Act R.S.O. 1990, c. H. 8, Section 122. This restriction is necessary to protect highways, streets, and roads from damage during mild, wet spring conditions.

First Street South and Chipman Street Sidewalk Closure

Please be advised that the sidewalks fronting the northeast corner of First Street South and Chipman Street will be closed from March 17 to August 31. 

The closure is necessary to allow for the construction of Waasegiizhig Nanaandawe’iyewigamig’s (WNHAC) new facility. 

Pedestrians are advised to use the sidewalks on the opposite side of the streets during this period.  

We thank the public for their cooperation and patience during this private construction project.

Precautionary Boil Water Advisory Rescind Notice 470 Lakeview Drive and West

Please be advised that the precautionary boil water advisory issued on February 23, 2025, has been rescinded for all persons consuming water from the City of Kenora water distribution system from the following locations: 

• 470 Lakeview Drive and west including homes and businesses in the following areas: Norman, Keewatin, Highway 17 West, and Darlington Drive

Public Notice Water Main Break Update on Norman Drive

Please be advised that the water main break on Norman Drive has been fully repaired by our crews overnight. 

Norman Drive and the surrounding roads are now open to traffic. 

The Precautionary Boil Water Advisory shall remain in effect until a notice of rescind is issued.

Thank you to the residents and businesses of Keewatin and Norman for your efforts in reducing water usage during this critical time while our crews address the water main break on Norman Drive. However, more help is still needed to ensure our water supply remains stable. 

Please refrain from taking baths and showers tonight and also avoid running your dishwasher.
