Unidirectional Flushing Program

Please be advised that Velocity Water Services Inc. will be performing a Unidirectional Flushing Program on the City of Kenora watermain system over the next six to eight weeks, beginning on Monday, May 26.
Flushing will take place in the area outlined in green on the map below.
During the flushing process, there should be no interruptions to water service. Common and temporary effects of the flushing process include a slight drop in water pressure and discoloured water.

Water Main Break Update for Kenora Dog Park

Please be advised that a water main break at Kenora Dog Park has been successfully repaired by our crew.
To complete the repairs, the park fences were temporarily removed. As a result, the Dog Park remains closed to the public until further notice, until the fences are reinstalled.
Residents on Pine Portage Road who experienced reduced water pressure can expect their water service to return to normal levels by this evening.

Please be advised that there is a water main break at the Kenora Dog Park and repair crews are currently on-site addressing the issue.
We ask the public to refrain from visiting the Dog Park at this time while the repairs are underway.
Residents along Pine Portage Road may experience temporary low water pressure during this period.

Water Services Interruption for Third Street North, Fourth Street North, Matheson Street North

Please be advised that there will be a temporary interruption to water services on the morning of Wednesday, July 9, for the following areas:
- 100 and 200 blocks on Third Street North and Fourth Street North
- 100, 200, and 300 blocks on Fifth Street North
- A small number of houses at the north end of Matheson Street North
Customers can expect their water to be off for up to three hours. We will make every effort to minimize the time customers are without water.

Coney Island Residents Affected by Power Outage Urged to Conserve Water

On June 25, 2026, SYNERGY NORTH announced a power outage affecting approximately 100 Coney Island residents. Power restoration is expected to be complete by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2025.
The City urges Coney Island residents affected by this outage to conserve water until power is restored to prevent overloading grinder pumps, which could lead to sewer spills.
