At 04:20 this morning, Kenora Fire and Emergency Services responded to reports of smoke in a Kenora residence. Upon arriving at the scene, Crews saw visible smoke and swiftly upgraded the response to a working fire.

The City is pleased to announce the upcoming development of a new, fully accessible playground at Coney Island, with an anticipated opening in 2026. The City of Kenora’s Economic Development and Tourism team has nominated Kenora for HGTV’s Home Town Takeover Canada, expanding from the popular U.S. franchise to celebrate community pride and support revitalization efforts in communities with a population of 20,000 or fewer. The selected community will be announced by HGTV in the coming months.

The Economic Development and Tourism Department of the City of Kenora is excited to announce that it has won a Marketing Canada Award. The Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC) revealed the winners of the 2025 Marketing Canada awards at its annual conference hosted October 6 to 9, 2025 in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.

October 5 to 11, 2025, is Fire Prevention Week (FPW). The City of Kenora Fire and Emergency Services is teaming up with the Office of the Fire Marshal and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the official sponsor of Fire Prevention Week (FPW), to promote this year’s campaign, “Charge into Fire Safet: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home.”
