On Tuesday, May 20, Council approved the 2025 tax rates and ratios for the City. The 2025 Capital, Solid Waste, and Water and Wastewater Utility Budgets were approved on November 19, 2024, and the 2025 Operating Budget on March 18, 2025.

Jon brings a wealth of experience as a carpenter and building inspector, having previously held the roles of Deputy Chief Building Official and Chief Building Official throughout Southern Ontario. Although most of his career has been spent in Southern Ontario, Kenora feels like home to him, reminding him of his roots in New Brunswick.

The City is thrilled to announce that upgrades to the Moncrief Construction Sports Centre are set to enhance our community’s recreational experiences. Beginning in early May 2025, we will be replacing the concrete slab in the Thistle Arena to provide a more solid and stable ice surface.
