The City of Kenora is partnering with PSD CityWide over the next 8-to-12-month period to develop an Asset Management Plan. Residents are invited to participate in the Citizen Questionnaire by October 14, 2024.

The City of Kenora is excited to announce the launch of an improved transit service called "The Wave" on October 15, 2024, in partnership with service provider Via. This updated service aims to help residents and visitors seamlessly reach their desired destinations within the community. The new transit system will migrate from a conventional fixed route system to a modernized microtransit model, utilizing smaller vehicles for on-demand service.

The City of Kenora has appointed Dexter Hupe as Kenora Fire and Emergency Services Acting Fire Chief effective September 23, after receiving the resignation of Chief David Pratt. 

The City of Kenora is pleased to announce a significant contribution from the Municipal Accommodation Tax to the Black Sturgeon Lake Property Owners Association. In a recent gathering, Mayor Poirier and Councillor Barb Manson presented a financial contribution of $40,000 aimed at enhancing local tourism and access to some of our region’s beautiful waterways.

On June 28, the City of Kenora and Kenora Public Library Board announced that the Keewatin Library and Keewatin Senior Centre, located on Ottawa Street, will be closed until further notice due to structural issues with the roof. 

The City of Kenora is pleased to announce that Steve Woolrich has been actively engaging with the community, walking the streets, and meeting with local businesses to analyze community safety issues in the Harbourtown Centre. Woolrich is currently undertaking a three-month residency, which concludes July 31, 2024.
