Temporary Closure of City Facilities
Staff Appreciation Event June 23, 2026
Please be advised that all City buildings and facilities, except Moncrief Construction Sports Centre, will be closed on Tuesday, June 23, between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. for a staff appreciation event.
The City's recreation department is hosting a Lifesaving Society Recertification course on June 26 to keep your lifeguarding skills current.
On May 28, 2026, City of Kenora Council approved to proceed with the expropriation of the Kenricia Hotel, completing the Certificate of Approval stage, and moving forward with the Registration of an Expropriation Plan.
Registration for City of Kenora Women’s Slo-Pitch League is now open. We are recruiting returning teams, as well as new teams for the 2026 season.
The City of Kenora Women’s Slo-Pitch League 2026 is looking to bring on new umpires to support the league throughout the upcoming season.
City of Kenora is moving to stage 4 of the expropriation process, Certificate of Approval. The City has received the report from the Ontario Land Tribunal, who oversaw the Hearing of Necessity. In the coming weeks, Council will determine if it wishes to proceed with the expropriation.
The City is pleased to announce that on February 17, 2026, Council approved the much anticipated Community Improvement Plan (CIP). This single, comprehensive plan aligns Kenora’s growth and revitalization efforts and expands available financial incentives to encourage and support development.

Please be advised that the vehicle weight restrictions on Keewatin Channel Bridge are removed and the westbound lane of the Keewatin Channel Bridge is now open.
