Ninth Street North Project Updates

The City is pleased to share updates about the two improvement projects and upcoming road openings on Ninth Street North. 

On the evening of Tuesday, September 2, Ninth Street North will open to all traffic and pedestrians. Project paving is currently underway and we are so excited to see this project completed on schedule. 

Additionally, the sewer and water piping replacement project at the West end of Ninth Street North is making great progress. We’re on track to be completed mid-October.

Moncrief Construction Sports Centre Lobby Renovation Facility Entrances

Exciting progress on the Moncrief Construction Sports Centre lobby renovation is underway. The project is at a key stage that will affect facility entry starting at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 25, and continue until project completion.

The reception will be transitioned to the west end of the building. The facility will remain open, and entrances will be impacted as follows: 

• The west entrance will be used to access the pool, fitness center, and physiotherapy.
• The main entrance will remain open for...

Rabbit Lake Water Levels

Please be advised that water levels on Rabbit Lake are lower than normal.

This is due to repair work that is required to the water level control mechanism.

This situation is being monitored, and the City is in the process of developing a plan for repairs.

Updates will be shared as more information becomes available.

Temporary Closure of Matheson Street Parkade

Please be advised that there will be inspections taking place in the parkade, limiting access to parking from August 18 to 22. This means that your parking spot will be temporarily unavailable as per the following schedule: 

• Monday, August 18 – Level 1
• Tuesday, August 19 – Level 2
• Wednesday, August 20 – No closure planned
• Thursday, August 21 – Level 3
• Friday, August 22 – Level 1
