Ninth Street North Second Area Road Closure

Please be advised that a second reconstruction project on Ninth Street North from Twelfth Avenue North to Thirteenth Avenue North will begin on Thursday, June 26.
This section of Ninth Street North will be closed to all traffic during this time, and motorists are advised to follow the detour route around the project area.
The work will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Friday, unless specific site conditions require alternative hours.

Please be advised that a reconstruction project on Ninth Street North from the intersection of Mellick Avenue to Main Street Rideout will begin on Monday, June 23.
This section of Ninth Street North will be closed to all traffic during this time, and motorists are advised to follow the detour route around the project area.
Mellick Avenue and the adjacent back lanes will remain open to local residents only, with access from Tenth Street North.

Fire Ban Lifted June 13, 2025

Please be advised the City-wide fire ban is lifted as of Friday, June 13, at 12:01 a.m. This follows the announcement from the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) ending the Restricted Fire Zone for the northwest region.
Although the fire ban has been lifted, conditions remain dry, and residents are strongly encouraged to burn responsibly and safely with extreme caution.

Unidirectional Flushing Program

Please be advised that Velocity Water Services Inc. will be performing a Unidirectional Flushing Program on the City of Kenora watermain system over the next six to eight weeks, beginning on Monday, May 26.
Flushing will take place in the area outlined in green on the map below.
During the flushing process, there should be no interruptions to water service. Common and temporary effects of the flushing process include a slight drop in water pressure and discoloured water.
