Night time cemetery walking tour
Presented by the Lake of the Woods Museum
Take an evening walk in Kenora's silent city, the Lake of the Woods Cemetery. With over 14,000 burials it is the largest cemetery in northern Ontario, and one of the largest cemeteries in Canada. The tour looks at Kenora’s history through the lens of the people buried here. From true crime tales and murder mysteries, to the Ontario-Manitoba border war, sickness and disease, and one of the most famous (and grisliest) bank robberies in Canadian history. These true stories of real people combine to give a history of Kenora like you've never heard before.
- 7:00 p.m. on most Wednesdays in the summer
- Meet at the Lake of the Woods Cemetery Garage (enter the main gate and follow the signs to the north end of the cemetery)
- $10.00 per person
