Explore the Lake of the Woods Cemetery in a unique way throughout the summer months in Kenora.
After Dark: Lake of the Woods Cemetery Walking Tour
Presented by the staff of the Lake of the Woods Museum, in association with the Lake of the Woods Cemetery
Take an evening walk in Kenora's silent city— the Lake of the Woods Cemetery. With over 14,000 burials it is the largest cemetery in northwestern Ontario. The tour looks at Kenora’s history through the famous, and infamous, stories of the people buried here. From true crime tales and murder mysteries, to the Ontario-Manitoba border war, sickness and disease in early Rat Portage, and one of the most famous (and grisliest!) bank robberies in Canadian history. These true stories of real people will give you a view of the history of Kenora like you've never heard before.
