One of the best ways to explore the City of Kenora is by bike! Take a beautiful tour along the Lake of the Woods waterfront and explore the green and natural areas throughout our community. Embrace cycling as a mode of transportation and promote bike ridership in our community.
Cycling routes
Check out our network of recreational bicycle routes that connect Kenora's outlying areas to the downtown and key attractions around the City. All routes start and end at the Lake of the Woods Discovery Centre. Each route is identified by a coloured dot, and clearly marked on bike route signs throughout the City.
Trails
Looking for a more intense ride? Many of Kenora's hiking trails are just waiting for you to do a little off-roading.
The Great Trail
The Great Trail or TransCanada trail system passes through the City of Kenora both on water and land. Whether you are completing a long ride across the country or just want to tackle the local portion, the Great trail system is a well-maintained route.
Bicycle safety
Make sure that you take all of the necessary cycling safety precautions while riding in Kenora. This includes wearing a helmet and using proper hand signals.
Kenora does have a number of roundabouts and narrow bridges. Please occupy a full lane when using a roundabout or bridge. If you are not comfortable, we recommend walking your bike on the sidewalk until you are reading to begin riding again.
