The Province of Ontario has approved the Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarians (DRAO) program for Kenora.
Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarians is a program that can help affected residents recover costs after a natural disaster. Homeowners and residential tenants, small owner-operated businesses and farms, and not-for-profit organizations in your municipality that were affected by the disaster can apply for assistance under the program.

There is information circulating that suggests that the City is disposing of the Keewatin Medical Clinic without provisions for the new owner to retain medical services in the building. This information is not accurate, and does not reflect the public Expression of Interest (EOI) document that was publicized and available for anyone to submit an interest in the building, including the doctors of the Keewatin Medical Clinic.

City Announces Extensive Restoration Project of Husky the Muskie

Kenora’s iconic mascot will receive an extensive facelift in the coming weeks.
The City of Kenora has engaged Dinosaur Valley Studios from East Coulee, Alberta to carry out a major renovation of the Husky the Muskie structure. The project site will begin to take shape with scaffolding placed around the structure beginning today. The rehabilitation work will start on Friday, June 10, and last up to ten days. It is anticipated that construction will be completed by June 20, 2022.

Today, City of Kenora Council interrupted traffic on Main Street South with a banner cutting to welcome Kenora residents, seasonal residents, neighbouring communities and visitors to the community kicking off the 2022 Glad You Are Here campaign.
The City of Kenora has many initiatives planned throughout the summer including, continued support of the pop-up patio program, new streetscaping elements in the Harbourtown Centre, and promotional giveaways.
