Partially Treated Wastewater Overflow Winnipeg River

Please be advised that between the evening of September 16 and morning of September 17 the City’s Wastewater Treatment Plant experienced an overflow of partially treated wastewater into the Winnipeg River due to heavy rainfall and pump failure. The overflow was diluted by the heavy rain flows coming into the Wastewater Treatment Plant, and then further diluted by the River waters.

Brushing Work on James Road

Please be advised brushing work has started on James Road and will be carried out over the next two weeks, September 18 to October 2, 2024.
There may be traffic delays. Motorists and pedestrians are reminded to obey the signs and traffic controls. Use caution when heavy equipment is working.
We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation during this maintenance work.
Splash Park Closing for the Season

Please be advised that the Rotary Splash Park will close for the season after Sunday, September 22. City staff will start winterizing the water features on Monday, September 23.
This will be the last weekend to enjoy the splash park before it closes for the season.
We look forward to the re-opening of the splash park in the spring of 2025.
Second Street South Fire Hydrant Work

Please be advised that Second Street South between Chipman Street and Fourth Avenue South will be closed from Monday, September 23, to Thursday, September 26, to complete a fire hydrant replacement.
Detour routes will be in place.

Precautionary Boil Water Advisory for Minto Drive and Minto Crescent

Please be advised that the Precautionary Boil Water Advisory for Minto Drive and Minto Crescent has been issued as of the evening of September 17, 2024.
All water from taps should be boiled for at least one minute if it is used for human consumption. Once boiled the water can be stored in the refrigerator in a clean food-safe container and should be used for other activities where it may be ingested.
The advisory shall remain in effect until a notice of rescind is issued.
