Temporary Road Closures for Santa Claus Parade

Kenora Kinsmen Club hosts its annual Santa Claus Parade on Saturday, November 30. Downtown streets within the parade route along First Street South, Chipman Street, Park Street, Second Street South, and Main Street South, will be temporarily closed from approximately 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on November 30.

We kindly ask those attending the parade to park in designated areas that do not interfere with the parade route. Additionally, please ensure there is enough space for emergency vehicles to pass...

Transfer Station Fee Changes Effective January 1, 2025

Please be advised that effective January 1, 2025, Transfer Station fees will increase by 3.5% overall. This increase has been approved by Council in the 2024 Solid Waste Utility Budget.

The new fee structure will impact scale loads, fees for when the scale is out of service, and other commercial service fees. For instance, customers will be charged $23.15 for a load weighing up to 250 kg, $138.85 per tonne for loads weighing over 250 kg, and $98.35 per tonne for materials redirected to the Kenora...

Council Approves 2025 Capital, Solid Waste, and Water and Wastewater Budgets

On November 19, Council approved the 2025 Capital, Solid Waste, and Water and Wastewater Utility Budgets including their respective 10-year Capital plans. 

Council met on October 1, October 22, October 29, and November 5 to review and amend the draft 2025 Capital, Solid Waste, and Water and Wastewater budgets. Council and Administration held detailed discussions on the draft budgets identifying the needs and priorities of the City.

Kenora's Holiday Tradition Continues with Main Street Tree Lighting

The City is pleased to announce the Main Street Christmas Tree Lighting event will begin at 5:30 p.m. on November 22. This festive occasion on Main Street, hosted by Harbourtown BIZ, Tourism Kenora, and The Muse, welcomes everyone and their families to enjoy an evening filled with holiday joy and community spirit. There will be joyful music, delicious treats, cozy fire pits, and a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Please be advised that City of Kenora customers may experience delays in receiving water services bills, property tax notices, and other receivables due to the current interruption to postal services.
