Today, Wauzhushk Onigum Nation Leadership announced they have detected over 170 plausible burials on their traditional territory, after searching the former St. Mary’s Indian Residential School site. The City of Kenora extends our heartfelt condolences to the Wauzhushk Onigum Nation community, and all Indigenous communities in our area. Notice is hereby given that Council of the Corporation of the City of Kenora proposes, at its meeting to be held on February 15, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. to consider a By-Law to Surplus and Sell certain lands within the municipality.
A by-law will be placed on the Agenda of the Committee of the Whole on February 8, 2023 at 9:00 a.m., Council of the Corporation will then have the opportunity for consideration during their regular meeting on February 15, 2023.

Council approves the 2023 meeting calendarCouncil approved the meeting calendar for 2023. Committee of the Whole meetings will take place on the second Wednesday of the month at 9:00 a.m. and Council meetings will take place on the third Wednesday of the month at 5:00 p.m.

Water Delivery Schedule Change

Please be advised that water delivery will be available five days a week, Monday to Friday, effective immediately. The delivery area remains south of Kenora By-pass Highway 17A, between the Highway 17 East and West boundaries.
Customers must place the water delivery order by calling the day before the water is required, same day requests are subject to the higher fill fee.

Council has commenced their new term with a firm commitment to the community to address safety concerns for citizens in the downtown core.
A special meeting of Council held yesterday provided an initial opportunity to hear the concerns of citizens along with a dedicated opportunity for Council to discuss ideas to address the systemic challenges facing the community.
