Snow Clearing and Parking

The City of Kenora is reminding citizens about parking for snow clearing this winter.
Please keep the snow and ice on your property when cleaning your yard and driveway after a snow fall. Do not push or pile snow onto municipally-owned streets and sidewalks. When snow is piled on the street or blocks the sidewalk, it is difficult and unsafe for the snow plow operators to clear the snow.
At all times, especially in winter, you may not park your vehicle over or partly onto a sidewalk....
New Coney Island Footbridge to be Installed with Temporary Railings

Today, Tuesday, November 16, Council directed administration to install the new Coney Island Footbridge structure with temporary construction railings and lighting to ensure access to Coney Island continues for the 2022/2023 winter season.

Coker Road Temporary Closure

Effective immediately, a portion of Coker Road east of Kelly Road is closed to all traffic until further notice.
The area of Coker Road, near Kelly Road, is temporarily closed for continued remedial road work to be completed.
Contractors have been deployed to the site and signs are posted in the area to direct traffic.
The City apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause while this remedial work takes place.

The Lake of the Woods Cemetery is now accepting orders for ice candles for the 24th Annual Ice Candle Festival of Lights. Orders are accepted until Friday, December 2, 2022.

City Raises Métis Flag Permanently at City Hall

The Métis flag has reserved permanent residency outside Kenora City Hall as a symbol of the City’s ongoing commitment to Indigenous reconciliation.
