Municipal Bridge Assessment Work

Please be advised that assessment work will take place from July 8 to 12 on municipal bridges. Engineers will use rope access to inspect the bridge structures and may be seen climbing underneath to complete this work. 

There will be no impacts to traffic or lane closures required. 

This is Phase 1 of the City’s Bi-annual Bridge Assessment Project which reports on the status of municipal bridges for maintenance planning.

Keewatin Library Closure

Effective immediately, the Keewatin Library and Keewatin Senior Centre are closed. 

The Keewatin Library building located on Ottawa Street has been deemed unsafe for occupancy due to a structural issue with the roof. 

This building holds programming for library services as well as our Keewatin Senior Centre which will be impacted by this closure.

Residents Encouraged to Attend Local Fireworks Display

To minimize the risk of fire and burn injuries on Canada Day, Kenora Fire and Emergency Services encourages residents to attend the fireworks display at the Jarnel Contracting Pavilion instead of informal family or neighbourhood displays.
