Register now for Sports Stars After School Program

Our recreation department is hosting a new community program called Sports Stars. The after-school program is designed to offer children ages 6 to 11 the chance to explore a variety of sports in a supportive environment.
This free after-school program will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 4 to 5 p.m., for five weeks starting Tuesday, September 24.
Each week will feature a different sport:
- Week 1: skating and ball hockey at the Bowman Electric Keewatin Memorial Arena

Tenth Street Closure

Please be advised that Tenth Street from Erie Street to Highway 17 will be closed from Monday, September 16, to Friday, September 20, to continue the road improvement project.
Motorists and pedestrians are reminded to follow detours through the construction area. Local traffic will be permitted.

2025 Community Improvement Plan Program Launched

Today, the City of Kenora opened application intake for the Community Improvement Plan (CIP) programs in the Harbourtown Centre, Keewatin and the Former Mill Site. These programs can provide funding for projects in specific areas of the municipality to support economic development, affordable housing, revitalization, enhanced streetscapes and building facades. Funding for the CIP programs are considered on an annual basis by Council.

Norman Park Playground Completions

Please be advised that upgrades are continuing at Norman Park over the next two weeks, including:
- adding a border around the new gravity rail area,
- adding a pathway to the gravity rail play area, and
- surface grading.
During this time, fencing will be erected in the parking lot, portions of the paved pathway from the Splash Park to the Beach and around the new gravity rail area. The fencing layout will adjust as the work progresses.
The interruption to the paved pathway will be kept to a minimum.
