Normal winter weather fluctuations in Northwestern Ontario create perfect conditions for spring pothole formation. Our Roads Division takes steps to quickly repair potholes. Potholes become much more prevalent during the spring due to the freeze/thaw cycle. Water seeps into cracks in the pavement, saturating the soil underneath. Keewatin Channel Bridge Assessment

Please be advised that Stantec will be conducting an assessment of the Keewatin Channel Bridge this week. The assessment is being done ahead of the steel coating project taking place later this year. The assessment work will occur beneath and on the sides of the bridge, where the Engineers will use rope access to check the bridge components.
There will be no impact on traffic or sidewalks during this time.
Community Safety Survey Deadline Approaching

The Community Safety Survey is approaching the end of the collection period, and the community has only a few days left to participate.
The City of Kenora’s Crime Prevention and Community Well-Being Advisory Committee (CPCWB) launched a month-long community survey on February 1, which will close on February 29 at midnight. The survey is a considerable piece of the process which will gather valuable information and help contribute to the development of Kenora’s Community Safety and Well-Being plan.
First Day Events of Kenora's Winter Festival Announced

Tourism Kenora invites you to the Jarnel Contracting Pavilion on Friday, March 1, at 5:30 p.m. for the start of the Winter Weekend of Wonder, Kenora’s Winter Festival.
The evening will feature two live shows: an LED Dance Show at 5:45 p.m. and a Fire Dance Show at 6:15 p.m.
The 2024 Snow Sculpture winner will be announced, and you can stay warm by the fire with some hot chocolate and smores (while supplies last).
