On March 30, 2023, the City of Kenora received notice that the property owner of 351 Peterson Road had applied to Transport Canada to register a water aerodrome, an application that resides under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Federal Ministry of Transportation.
The City of Kenora acknowledges Transport Canada’s exclusive constitutional jurisdiction over aeronautics, and it further recognizes that water aerodromes are technically exempt from statutory consultation requirement.

Mellick Avenue Road Improvements and Closures

Please be advised that Titan Contractors (Kenora) Ltd. will be completing road improvements on Mellick Avenue between Tenth Street North and Thirteenth Street North commencing Wednesday, May 3 and continuing until the end of June 2023.
During the construction, Mellick Avenue will have intermittent closures from Tenth Street North to Eleventh Street North to allow for construction. When closures are required, traffic will be detoured around the construction area using Main Rideout Street.

The City of Kenora’s Recreation and Culture department received a request for ice time to activate a Junior A team in Kenora. The recreation team has reviewed the request and determined that the junior team calendar will not be included in the 2023/2024 ice season schedule.

The City of Kenora Municipal Emergency Control Group wants to remind residents of the seasonal flood risks that come with the spring melt and rising water levels.
As the temperatures climb and the snowpack melts, and water levels rise. This may trigger overland flooding and excessive runoff. We can all take steps to be ready when seasonal flooding occurs.
