Site Work Development Former Mill Lands

Please be advised that beginning Wednesday, June 16, Kenon Builders will begin preliminary site development on the former mill property. The location will be off of Ninth Street North close to Mellick Avenue on the former mill lands.
This preliminary road work development will lead to the eventual use of the property which will be mixed use of residential and commercial developments.

Central Community Club Progress

Over the coming weeks and months the public will see a great deal of activity in the Central Park area. An Expression of Interest (EOI) was issued in April for the design and development of the new Club and several submissions to the EOI were received. The submissions are now being evaluated, and an RFP will be issued to the short list proponents with an RFP due date of June 10th. The City is grateful to receive financial assistance for a downtown landscaping project this summer. Receiving $5,000 from Kal’s RePlay Fund to implement improvements to over 120 tree wells throughout the Harbourtown Centre will make impressive enhancements to the downtown. National non-profit is given the greenlight for fundraising campaign The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) and the City of Kenora reached a deal today regarding the future sale of Town Island.
