City Encourages Residents to be Prepared for Seasonal Flooding

The City of Kenora Municipal Emergency Control Group wants to remind residents of the seasonal flood risks that come with the spring melt and rising water levels.

The City of Kenora is pleased to announce that Greg Breen, has accepted the role of Director of Engineering & Infrastructure Services, effective February 6, 2023.

Flags at Half-Mast to Honour Fire Captain Larry Cottam

City of Kenora flags are at half-mast in honour of retired Kenora Fire Captain Larry Cottam, who passed away on April 3, 2023.

Larry’s death is recognized as a Line of Duty Death which falls under provincial presumptive legislation. The flags will be flown at half-mast to recognize Larry's 34 years of service with Kenora Fire and Emergency Services. Larry retired in 2019.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Larry's family and our firefighters who served alongside him. Rest easy Captain Cottam.

City to Receive 2022 Flooding Compensation

Council approves operating and utility budgets

Council approved the 2023 operating budget, as well as the solid waste and water and wastewater budgets. The tax rates and ratios will be set at the next meeting of Council. View the March 24 Media Release for more details.
