Council will hold a Statutory Public Meeting under s. 34 and 39 of the Planning Act to consider a Temporary Use By-law as it pertains to Zoning By-law 101-2015. The proposed amendment would rezone the subject lands from RR – Rural Residential Zone to RR-T Rural Residential Temporary Use Zone.
Residential recycle blue box programs in Ontario are moving to a new collection system that is fully funded by producers of recycling materials. Starting in January, Kenora will transition to an enhanced recycling system managed by Circular Materials. Recycling will be even more convenient with your new recycling cart.
The City is continuing essential repairs to the Portage Bay Bridge through the winter. For your safety, the Portage Bay Bridge remains closed to all pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
On Tuesday, December 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. a small section of Ninth Street North, between Artillery Way and Eleventh Avenue North, will be closed for hydro line maintenance by SYNERGY NORTH.
Please be advised that downtown roads will be temporarily closed on Saturday, November 29, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., for the Kenora Kinsmen Club Santa Claus Parade.
Traffic lights at the intersection of Lakeview Drive and Parsons Street will be disabled on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, starting at 8:00 a.m. for geotechnical drilling on Parsons Street and Minnesota Street.
Please be advised that starting Friday evening, November 21, 2025, and continuing until further notice, the Keewatin Channel Bridge will have a vehicle weight limit due to scaffolding adjustments. Vehicles weighing up to 8,500 pounds, including passengers and cargo, may continue to use the bridge via the signalled alternating traffic in the Eastbound lane. All commercial vehicles weighing over 8,500 pounds must use the Highway 17A Bypass.
The Aquatic Centre at the Moncrief Construction Sports Centre will be closed to the public to host the 2025 Kenora Swimming Sharks Swim Meet on Saturday, November 22, 2025.
Please be advised that starting Friday, November 21, 2025, the Westbound lane of the Keewatin Channel Bridge will close for the next phase of the Bridge Repair and Recoating Project.
Please be advised that City crews will be working at the Main Street Christmas Tree location in preparation for the holiday season from November 18 to 21, 2025.
