2026 Interim Tax Bills have been sent by mail as of Thursday, January 15, 2026 for all City of Kenora property owners. Due date for payment is February 24, 2026.
Please be advised that Matheson Street South from the corner of Matheson Street South for approximately 50 meters east on First Avenue South will be closed to all traffic on Monday, January 19, 2026.
Take notice that, in accordance with Section 28 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, as amended, the Corporation of the City of Kenora will hold a Public Open House and the Council of the Corporation of the City of Kenora will hold a Statutory Public Meeting to consider a proposed new Community Improvement Project Area and Community Improvement Plan (CIP).
Please be advised that on Wednesday, January 14, Main Street South between Second Street South and Third Street South will be closed to allow for the safe removal of the Main Street Christmas tree and seasonal decorations.
Due to high volumes, some curbside collection customers in Lakeside did not have garbage and recycling collected today, Tuesday, January 6. For those Lakeside locations missed today, have garbage and recycling at the curb by 8:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 7.

Effective January 1, 2026, City of Kenora water and wastewater user rates will increase by 8.8% (depending on meter size), for all customers in 2026. An average household that consumes 11.5 cubic meters of water can expect an increase of $13.58 per month in 2026, depending on usage.
Please be advised that effective January 1, 2026, Transfer Station fees will increase by 2.5% overall and the cost of a bag tag will increase by $0.15 to $2.75 per bag.
Please be advised that beginning Monday, January 5, 2026, the Westbound lane of the Keewatin Channel Bridge will close to allow the Bridge Repair and Recoating Project to continue. Load restrictions remain in place at 8,500 pounds (3,855 kilograms) per vehicle. Commercial vehicles over this limit must use the Highway 17A Bypass.
