Council Approves 2022 Operating Budget

Today, Council approved the 2022 operating budget. The 2022 capital budget was approved on December 21, 2021. The budget includes a number of critical projects initiated by staff, Council and community input.
The 2022 budget process started with significant increases to the levy requirement and through many changes by the management team and Council, the levy requirement was brought down to a 2.92% increase over the 2021 budgeted tax levy requirement.

Traffic Delays Anderson Branch Road West of Carlton Road

Contractors will be completing work to raise the road surface in anticipation of rising water levels on the Anderson Road just west of the Carlton Road intersection.
The locations will be on Anderson Branch and Carlton Road Intersection area starting today, Monday, May 16, and at the north side of Alcock Lake on Carlton Road starting Tuesday, May 17.
Truck traffic will be using Carlton Road.

City Issues Alert for All Roads North of the Bypass

Our Municipal Emergency Control Group and City roads patrol have been actively monitoring the flooding situation over the weekend.
The City is concerned about rising water levels on many of the roads, of which some have seen significant water level increases over the past 24 hours.
Given the rapidly changing state the City is advising that anyone with residences north of the bypass should be monitoring their homes and the possibility of flooding in their areas.

The City has been advised that the water levels are expected to continue to rise for the next 5 to 7 days on Lake of the Woods, Winnipeg River and Black Sturgeon.
Our Municipal Emergency Control Group has been actively monitoring the situation. City crews have provided their best efforts to ensure the roads are passable and remain safe for travel. Despite best efforts, we have reached a critical juncture.
