The City of Kenora wishes to advise the public that, effective May 21, 2025, Kyle Attanasio has departed from the role of Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for the City of Kenora. Council thanks Mr. Attanasio for his service and contributions to the City and extends best wishes in his future endeavors.

Council Approves 2025 Tax Rates and Ratios

On Tuesday, May 20, Council approved the 2025 tax rates and ratios for the City. The 2025 Capital, Solid Waste, and Water and Wastewater Utility Budgets were approved on November 19, 2024, and the 2025 Operating Budget on March 18, 2025.
The 2025 approved budget represents an 8.12% increase in the City’s residential municipal tax rate over 2024.

Coney Island Recycle and Garbage Collection Cancellation

Please be advised that the Coney Island recycle and garbage seasonal collection service has been cancelled for today, Tuesday, May 20. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
If you have items to dispose of immediately, you can bring them to the Transfer Station, 401 Mellick Avenue. Garbage bags must have an attached City of Kenora bag tag. Accepted recycle items can be deposited at the Recycle Depot for free. The Transfer Station is open every day, except holidays.

Load Restrictions Lifting

Please be advised that the spring load restrictions put in place on Sunday, March 23, on local roads will be terminated in coordination with the Ministry of Transportation, effective 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, 2025.

Household Hazardous Waste Depot Moving to Saturdays

Please be advised that the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) depot at the Transfer Station is conveniently moving to Saturdays, starting June 7 and continuing every Saturday until the end of September. The HHW depot hours will remain the same - open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
