Collective Bargaining Community Update 1

The City and CUPE have been in collective bargaining aimed at achieving a renewal of the collective agreement for our 140 front-line workers. The bargaining teams have been meeting since October 17, 2024.
During this time, the bargaining teams have reached agreement on a number of issues, however a few key items, such as labour market adjustments, general salary increases, bonus vacation days and double-time provisions, remain outstanding.

Evergreen Water Station Out of Service

Please be advised that the Evergreen Water Station on Brinkman Road will be out of service on Monday, April 14, and Tuesday, April 15, for repairs.
Customers can access water at the Crawford Road Water Station, which is a low flow service only.

Traffic Reduced to One Lane on Lakeview Drive

Please be advised that traffic on Lakeview Drive, from the Winnipeg River West Bridge to the Winnipeg River East Bridge (Hospital Bridge), will be reduced to a single lane on Sunday, February 16, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Flaggers will be on-site to manage traffic flow.
This temporary lane closure is necessary for geotechnical drilling in preparation for the City’s 2025 paving projects.

Snow Removal Keewatin

Please be advised that snow removal operations will take place on May Street, Ottawa Street, 6th Street, Erie Street, and Superior Street beginning on Tuesday, February 18, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
The work plan may be adjusted if there are weather changes or if emergencies and other snow event priorities develop.
Signs will be posted in the snow removal area to indicate ‘No Parking’ zones. Vehicles parked in a signed snow removal zone may be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.
